British Red is published twelve times a year in England. Red began publishing with the January 1998 issue. I've only seen a few issues, but what writing I've seen in earlir issues is rather intelligent and relivant. Inside editorials are very down to earth, using such photographers as Pascal Chevallier, Stewart Shining, and Oberto Gili. Although most covers (if not all) are celebrities, it is not a celebrity mag. Models used in the fashion/lifestyle editorials are in or are approaching their thirties. Red is geared more towards the reader than the browser. It also has a refreshing feminist slant.
On a side note, there was an attempt at a USA version in 2005, but unfortunately it failed because of an already saturated women's magazine market and because it was boring and disorganized. |
